president's message
It is an honor to serve as the President of Delta Theta Mu - Beta Chapter at The University of Texas. Thank you for stopping by our website and wanting to learn more about us!
When I first heard about DTM, the emphasis on including girls like me initially sparked my interest in joining. I will admit I was a bit weary when I first came out to rush events because growing up I never felt like I fit in, especially with a group of girls, and would worry about what everyone thought of me. However, as soon as I met a couple of the girls, I immediately felt like I had made lifelong connections with people who appreciate me for who I truly am. I fully stand behind including all different types of girls in organizations like these. Coming into college as an anxious freshman with a limited amount of friends can be extremely daunting, and finding a group of friends who supports and values you can really help you find your footing. Girls supporting other girls is an overarching theme within our sorority. While we enjoy making connections, we also find it important to give back to a community that has given us so much. Throughout the year Delta Theta Mu will be supporting GirlForward, an organization that supports, educates, and houses refugee girls here in America. During the 2021-2022 academic year, we raised over $1,500 for them and are hoping to double that amount this year! I am so excited to see DTM grow and flourish and the long-lasting friendships it will create as it continues.
